LBC CHURCH HISTORY
The Liberty Baptist Church was established in June 1995, in Nassau, Bahamas, under the leadership of two missionaries TJ and Tamela Tilley. This missionary family was sent out of the Calvary Baptist Church in North Carolina, USA, under the leadership of Pastor Roger Baker. During this time, the assistant Pastor Freddy Fryer came in the place of Pastor Roger Baker to help the missionaries organize services on the island.
Liberty Baptist Church had its first meeting in the living room of Audley and Mary Roberts located in the Nassau East Subdivision. The church was later moved to a storefront in the Shirley Street Shopping Center located on Shirley Street. In 1997, the Liberty Baptist Church called its first Bahamian pastor to be its undershepherd, Pastor Ricardo Lees Sr. (who still serves as the pastor presently)

Moreover, after purchasing three pieces of property on Adderley Street, Fox Hill, a temporary building to have church services was built in 1999. Later in 2015, a new church structure was constructed, and it is where church services are currently held to this day.
Liberty Baptist Church has seen the hand of God working in this ministry over the years. Many souls were saved, then baptized and added to this local church. We have seen many young men surrender to the call to preach. We have experienced God’s power, protection, and provision. Truly, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty!
...there is Liberty.
